Have you ever wanted to own a blacksmith shop? With smooth jazz playing, customers nagging you, the satisfying sound of your hammer against metal, this game is for you. Fantasy Smith is a blacksmith simulation game where you are given a request for a certain type of weapon, and you are tasked to create it using the materials that you have to work with. You will either have to make a waraxe, a dagger, or a sword.

In order to make a weapon, you first need to use the material that the customer is requesting. They will give you a picture of the item that they want, and you need to replicate it as well as you can. If the item in the picture has a brown blade, you must use bronze. If it is gray, you use iron. If it is yellow, gold is what you need to use. Then there is the handle. The handle has a certain type of gem on it, and you need to find that gem in one of the drawers at the counter. You simply attach the gem to the handle in the easily recognizable gem hole, and then place the blade(s) that you forged earlier (or later). After you have assembled the weapon, hand it to the customer, and they will pay you depending on how well you did.

Fantasy Smith VR
Highlights:

Strong Points: Cute characters and calm, relaxing gameplay
Weak Points: Bugs and crashes
Moral Warnings: Minor violence

The process of making a weapon is fairly simple. First you need to grab the material. Next, you need to stamp the bar of metal with what you want it to turn into. Then, you must place it into the forge, and use the bellows to start it. You then wait a few seconds until it transforms into an unshaped blade, use the tongs to grab it, and place it somewhere where you can hammer it into shape. That’s right, the next step is to hammer it into the shape that you want it to be (or should I say, what the customer wants it to be). After that, you need to cool it off, and sharpen it. To do this, you need to grab the tongs once again, and dip the now shaped blade in water. Now, you can grab it with your hand and use the sharpening stone to do any further reshaping that needs to be done. This will also include making sure there are no blunt ends (unless you are making a knife, in which case one side will be). Finally, grab the type of handle that what you are making needs, place the gem, and then you are done!

Occasionally, while you are working, you will hear a little chirp. This means that a slime has spawned, and it wants to eat your items. Slimes eat and destroy any item that they come across, making you have to wait a few seconds in order for it to respawn. If you want to kill the slime, which you must do if you value your possessions, you need to hit it with the hammer, or a blade that you have made/are making.

In the area you work in, you have a lot of things that you need to work with. You have, of course, a forge, an anvil, a shelf for potions, a pool of water, a pet bird-cat that is insanely cute, and other things. In some of the cabinets in one of the counters, there is a sign that you use to close the store, and a basket. The reason for this is because after the end of a day, a girl comes and asks you if you want to go to the market. To say yes, you hand her the basket. To say no, you hand her the sign to close the store. At the market, there are three piggy banks with nests on top of them. Each of them have a sign next to them saying what they might give you. To buy something, you insert a gold coin that somebody paid you, and then the pig eventually lays an egg that appears in the nest. To open it, you drop the egg on the ground or hit it with a hammer. Once you do this, a random item that fits in the category of the sign next to the pig that you paid will come out.

Score Breakdown:
Higher is better
(10/10 is perfect)

Game Score - 68%
Gameplay: 15/20
Graphics: 9/10
Sound: 4/5
Stability: 1/5
Controls: 5/5 Morality Score - 96%
Violence: 8/10
Language: 10/10
Sexual content: 10/10
Occult/Supernatural: 10/10
Cultural/Moral/Ethical: 10/10

This game has a lot of annoying bugs that might happen if you ever get the chance to play it. For example, the tongs are very buggy, as they will occasionally fly across the room while you are using them. Also, it will freeze a lot, causing you to have to exit the game. Another thing is that it crashes when exiting the game (yes, you read that right; when you exit the game a crash report comes up).

Morally, Fantasy Smith is almost perfect, other than the fact that you have to kill any slimes that appear.

If you ever somehow get your hands on this game, please play it, because I really enjoyed it and think you will too. If you do not have it and want it, then I wish you good luck on trying to find it, as you can no longer buy it.
