Tingus Goose was originally released as a mobile game in 2023. At first, it was well received, but as freemium metrics were implemented, the negative reviews started coming in. People stopped playing it because it took too long to level up without having to watch ads or spend money. The developers took note of the feedback and rebalanced the game for Steam without the pay to win mechanics. The Steam version is reasonably priced at $6.99 and can take over twenty hours to see all seventeen chapters.

I’m sure everyone knows what a goose is, but only people familiar with the artist Master Tingus will begin to understand what a tingus is. Master Tingus creates strange animations, and the game Tingus Goose is centered around his odd drawings. In this game, geese evolve by merging with humans and other various animals, and their offspring are called tingi.

After a creature comes in contact with goose DNA, nine months later they’ll sprout a goose head from their body, and your goal is to grow the goose’s neck long enough to mate with the goose suitor who is calling out to them. There’s a variety of suitors ranging from sporty, wealthy, criminal, and genetically unique. The final suitor has an angel/godlike form.

To grow your goose’s neck you’ll need to water it. Unfortunately, watering costs money, and you’ll have to earn money by monetizing the tingi coming out of your goose’s mouth. Tingi generate money every time they are touched by you (clicked on) or come in contact with various contraptions on your goose’s neck.

If you thought the concept of geese mating with different animals and sprouting out of them nine months later was weird, the contraptions are even stranger. There are over one hundred and fifty different apparatuses to unlock throughout the seventeen chapters.

Many of the contraptions are goose based, where a goose with fifty wiggly beaks will move a tingus around on their underside or another will gobble up a tingus and poop it out on the other side of the neck. Each level has a theme, and as the neck grows it will automatically sprout apparatuses, which may be helpful or a hindrance to the ones that you have already deployed. The contraptions can’t overlap, and if they do, neither will function until they’re no longer touching each other.

Gems are accumulated while playing, and you can spend them at the doctor’s store, which has a cool-down period of four minutes. In the store, you can buy contraptions and various buffs for your tingi and money income methods. As you progress in the game and unlock things in the tech tree, more items will become available in the doctor’s store.

Calcium is earned after successfully mating, or you can cash out on calcium early, but will need to replay the level to unlock the next one. Calcium is the currency needed to unlock the various offerings in the tech tree. You’ll want to unlock the ability to carry more gems sooner rather than later, as any excess are burned away and made unusable.

When it comes to mating, it’s G rated, but strange. The beak of the suitor will detach and land in the receptacle that will come out of the goose’s neck you grew. Nine months later a newly evolved goose will appear along with a different suitor calling out to them.

Though you can make tingi more resilient with upgrades, they will still reach their limit of being touched too much and will burst into different pieces. As gruesome as it sounds, it’s not bloody, and I think confetti emerges out of them as a result. It is quite odd hearing cooing baby sounds throughout their short-lived journey.

Toilet humor is prevalent, and there are plenty of pooping references, and you’ll have to click on the excrement from your piggy bank to collect income. Last but not least, there is some language, with the word *ss appearing in the description of one of the contraptions.

The background music has a smooth jazz feel and is quite calming. It’s well suited for hold music in my opinion. Thankfully, as an idle clicker you can close the game and earn money without having to run the game constantly. Listening to the music and clicking on the tingi is completely optional.

The hand-drawn animations are great and definitely make this title memorable. The level designs are unique and have different obstacles to overcome and keep things interesting. One level takes place inside of the goose, and you have to build your contraptions around various organs.

If you enjoy idle clickers and have a silly sense of humor, you’ll love Tingus Goose. Before the game launched there was a demo available, but sadly it is no longer available since the game’s launch. The asking price is reasonable and you can get a lot of enjoyment out of it. After completing the main game, you can continue to play in the epilogue mode and customize your game by selecting your level and suitor.
