Some things we do in life are pure work. Regardless, they need to be done, and with the right mindset, they can be relaxing and fun. PowerWash Simulator 2 is the successful follow-up to the first PowerWash Simulator.

The story of this game is set three years after the first game. You are the "Dirtfinder". You've recently moved to a new office to continue taking jobs to clean the dirt from various areas of the town of Muckingham and the surrounding areas. In the process, you'll learn more about the residents of the community, and, much like the last game, purge different locations of grime and filth.

Much like the first Powerwash Simulator, the goal is to clean locations and vehicles with the tools of the power washing trade. This typically involves using a gun-shaped water sprayer of varying models (starting from the weakest model to progressively better ones) along with extenders for added reach and nozzles for better coverage and spraying power. Specialty nozzles, like soap dispenser nozzles and adjustable spray head nozzles, allow for even greater efficiency at cleaning surfaces.

Unlike the first game, though, some improvements have been made. Soap had to be bought and was in limited supply; now it's an infinite resource. Soap can be sprayed on dirty surfaces to make them much easier to clean. The ability to tell what remaining surfaces need to be cleaned is enhanced with much clearer indications of what needs to be completed. Finally, certain jobs provide harnesses and lifts to make certain cleaning jobs easier.

The Career Mode follows a story continuing off the events of the first game, but the story can be ignored if the player so chooses. In between jobs, the player can visit their office. Here, the player can use bought furniture (with points acquired from their labor, separate from money, which is used to buy cleaning gear) to accessorize their office space.

Graphically, this game maintains the colorful yet realistic contemporary aesthetic of the first title. The water physics are much improved from the first game, showing detailed ripples and other details. Dirt in the first game tended to look like a flat overlay on textures. This game fixes this by having dirt and grime have a multilayered appearance, which appears thicker on surfaces more heavily coated in grime.

Sounds and music are, like the first title, largely absent. You do hear ambient background noise like birds chirping. You also, obviously enough, hear the sounds of water spraying when you use your tools. There are a few levels where there is some in-universe music or sound effects, but this game is otherwise silent. I prefer the quiet to concentrate, but this is a pretty good game to put a podcast on in the background or some other distraction, assuming you like to do that as you work.

This game fully supports both keyboard and mouse or any Steam-supported controller. Both modes of play come with easy-to-understand instructions and are very quick to learn. The default keybinds work pretty well, and this title adapts well for portable devices like the Steam Deck.

Stability is pretty solid. This game is not very demanding and runs natively on Microsoft Windows. It runs well on Linux via Steam Proton and is rated as Playable on the Steam Deck.

Morally, there is hardly anything to be concerned about. There is no violence, harsh language, sexual content, or moral issues to note. There is a generic depiction of a Christian-style church and monks, but this is not done in any way that is offensive to Christianity.

Overall, I rather liked this sequel to the first PowerWash Simulator. Technically, it's solid enough. Morally, it's, pun not intended, pretty stainless and fit for almost any age. If you want a nice, relaxing game to make dirty things clean, then I highly recommend PowerWash Simulator 2.
